Cloud POS features

Twelve weeks of live service, distilled into one cloud POS.

The fastest way to design a restaurant till is to run a restaurant while you build it. brasio has done service every weekend on this software since April — on a tablet, in the cloud, no installation required. Here's what made the cut.

Front-of-house till

The terminal runs in any web browser — on a cheap Android tablet, an old iPad, even a barback's phone in a pinch. Live product search, sub-menus that nest cleanly, quick-add by size for draught beers, mixer choice when you tap a spirit.

  • Type-to-find product search — results appear as you type
  • Tap a beer in the bar rail → pick taster / small / large / 1L at the price for that size
  • Tap a spirit → choose the mixer (or no mixer); the mixer is charged on its own line
  • Categories can nest one level (e.g. wines under 'Drinks')
  • Add a note to any line — it shows up on the kitchen ticket
  • Split tenders (cash + card + voucher + points on the same ticket)
  • Move whole tables or individual items between tables when customers shift around
  • Per-line discounts — a % or € off any item, with a reason, even after it is fired
  • Misc button for one-off priced items that are not in your catalogue

Waiter's handheld

A small app tuned for a phone in an apron pocket. Same menu, same floor plan, same login as the till — built so a waiter can take an order tableside.

  • Installs to the home screen, keeps working when wifi gets shaky
  • Reads the live menu and sends orders to the kitchen instantly
  • Each waiter picks their own language at login — Spanish, English, German, French or Dutch
  • Big buttons — designed for busy fingers in a hot kitchen

Reservations

Time slots that respect your real capacity, your own booking link, an automatic confirmation email with a calendar invite. Front-of-house can create or change bookings from the admin screen for phone calls. After the visit, an automatic email asks for a Google review.

  • Capacity-aware time slots per service (lunch 1–4, dinner 7–11)
  • Your booking link drops into your existing website with one line
  • Front-of-house sees a 'Next 2 hours' panel on the till
  • Manual create / edit for phone bookings, with a staff override
  • Confirmation email with a calendar invite goes out automatically
  • Post-visit review request, with a one-click Google review link

Reviews & guest feedback

After a guest's visit, a one-tap star-rating survey goes out. Happy guests (above your configurable threshold) are guided to Google and TripAdvisor; every other rating lands as private feedback only you see. Tied to loyalty profiles when the email matches. Available now — switch it on per venue when you're ready.

  • One-tap star survey sent after the visit
  • Happy guests routed to Google & TripAdvisor reviews
  • Private feedback captured for every rating
  • Linked to the loyalty customer when the email matches
  • Per-venue on/off switch and configurable rating threshold

Kitchen and bar orders

Course-grouped, notes highlighted, ready for the printer you already own. The Kitchen button on the active table fires food to the kitchen display and prints, both in one tap. Need to reprint? One more tap — the PDF reopens any time.

  • Per-line notes printed in bold above the dish
  • Grouped by course — starters, mains, desserts
  • Sized for a standard thermal printer
  • PDF fallback you can reprint any time, even after the order is fired
  • Waiters on the handheld auto-fire food when they send a round

Kitchen display

An optional dark-mode kitchen display on any tablet, running alongside your paper ticket. New orders arrive instantly with a chime and a flash; cards sort oldest-first and show the table, party size, course-grouped dishes and a live timer that turns amber at five minutes and red at ten. Cooks tap a dish to start it, tap again when it is ready.

  • New-order chime and flash so the kitchen never misses a ticket
  • Two-stage Start → Ready: see what is being worked on, by whom
  • Recall a bumped dish back onto the board if it was tapped by mistake
  • Course-grouped, ageing colours (amber 5min, red 10min)
  • Runs alongside the paper ticket — drinks never appear, by design

Staff hours, breaks, end of shift

A three-button shift exit: switch user, start or end a break, close shift. Tapping your PIN again during a break ends it automatically. Owners add staff in the admin screen — name, PIN, role and hourly rate — without touching the database.

  • Admin hours report by employee, by week
  • Per-shift drill-down with breaks deducted
  • Add and edit staff from the admin screen — owner/manager only
  • Roles: owner, manager, staff — with manager-PIN gates on the right actions
  • Cash handover screen at end of shift
  • Everything written into the tamper-proof history

Voids, history, tax-ready records

Every sale, void, shift event, kitchen fire, payment, table transfer and loyalty movement is recorded so nothing can be quietly altered after the fact. Designed to line up with Spain's new tax rules and similar fiscal regulations across the EU. Owners and inspectors can each see the same records in their own language.

  • Voids require a manager and a reason; the audit screen lists them live
  • Records are sealed so changes are always visible
  • Hash-chain integrity check button on every void row
  • Reports and receipts render in the viewer's language — Spanish for the inspector, English (or Dutch, German, French) for the owner
  • Each venue's data stays strictly separate from any other's

Customer tabs

Open a running tab against a regular and add to it across the night, the week, or the season. Each tab lives on the customer's profile next to their notes, allergies, favourite seat — and their loyalty balance.

  • Open a tab against an existing customer or create one on the fly
  • Add and remove items just like any other table
  • Settle in full or in part, any time — keeps the remainder open
  • Customer profile carries notes, allergies, favourite seat, birthday
  • Attach a customer mid-tab — the loyalty earn estimate updates on the chip

Loyalty programme

Customers who opt in earn points on every closed tab at a rate you set — by default one point per €1. Redeem at the till in two taps, against any open tab. Sensible guardrails keep balances and discounts honest: a minimum redemption, a maximum balance, GDPR consent stored on the customer record.

  • Earn rate, minimum spend and maximum balance set per venue
  • Pay-with-points alongside cash, card or voucher — split as you like
  • GDPR consent toggled on the customer profile, recorded with timestamp
  • Manual adjustments (comps, gifts, corrections) require a manager PIN
  • Tables show the attached customer's current points and what they'll earn at close

Gift vouchers

Generate a gift voucher with a unique code for any amount. Print it as a PDF on your A4 printer, or email it to the customer in one click. Redeem at the till by typing the code — partial values, split tenders and the rest take care of themselves.

  • Choose any value — your prices, your rules
  • Unique, hard-to-guess code printed and emailed
  • PDF designed for an A4 print, with your logo
  • Three-month expiry by default; extend any voucher in one click
  • Redemption is one code-type at the till, full or partial

Live cost prices and margins

Tell brasio what a bottle of wine costs you, what a 30L keg costs you, what you pay for a litre of vermouth. We do the per-pour maths and show your gross margin live on every size, in colour: green when it's healthy, amber when it's tight, rose when you're losing money. Edit a price and watch the number move. Spreadsheets are optional — you can also export the whole catalog to Excel, edit costs in bulk, and re-import.

  • Enter the container once (a 750ml bottle at €5 net, a 30L keg at €120 net) — per-size cost is derived automatically
  • GP% badge on every size, live as you type the sale price
  • Override any size manually for the rare special case
  • Edit a product straight from the till — manager pencil overlay on every tile, no menu diving
  • Export catalog to CSV or Excel, bulk-edit prices and costs, import back in one click
  • Print 'la cuenta' as a provisional bill before the customer pays — clearly marked as not-a-fiscal-receipt

Bottle and glass tracking

For wines, and any other pourable you sell by the glass. The first glass auto-opens a bottle, the rail shows how many glasses are left, and the bottle drops off when it's empty. Sell more than the bottle holds and we open the next one. Cancel a glass and we put it back.

  • Three glasses per bottle (or whatever you set, per product)
  • First glass automatically opens a bottle from stock
  • Rail shows '2/3 copas' live, refreshes the moment a glass is added
  • Bottle drops off when empty — next sale opens the next bottle
  • Refund a glass and it returns to the open bottle, or back into stock

Waste, stocktake and shrinkage

Long-press any product on the till to record a waste entry in two taps — pick the pour size (a Small Estrella, not a whole barrel) and the reason. Count stock category-by-category whenever a moment opens up; log goods-in as deliveries arrive. The movements log and shrinkage dashboard then tell you exactly where the gap is between what you sold, what you wasted, and what's actually on the shelf.

  • Long-press a product → waste modal with size chips (Large, Small, Taster, Glass, Bottle)
  • Manager-PIN auto-prompts above per-tenant euro thresholds — same pattern as voids
  • Stocktake by category, with variance preview and concurrent-edit detection
  • Goods-in with optional unit-cost update so margins stay accurate
  • Append-only, hash-chained movements log with CSV export for accountants
  • Shrinkage dashboard: declared waste alongside unexplained loss, per-product
  • Stock history collapsible on every product editor — last 20 movements at a glance

Food safety & traceability

Run the records a health inspector asks for. Receive ingredients with their supplier batch number and use-by date, track stock per lot with first-expiry-first-out draw-down, turn raw lots into traceable production batches (burger patties from this mince, these buns), and keep a digital APPCC logbook of fridge temperatures, cleaning and deliveries. Every part is optional and switched on per venue.

  • Ingredient lots with supplier batch + use-by/best-before, FEFO draw-down and expiry alerts
  • Production batches: a recipe consumes input lots and mints a new traceable batch with a computed use-by
  • Full genealogy + recall: any batch traces back to every input lot; a bad lot surfaces every batch it touched
  • APPCC logbook: temperature, cleaning and delivery checks on a per-shift or periodic schedule
  • Mandatory corrective action on any failed check — the note an inspector wants to see
  • One-tap cuaderno de autocontrol export (PDF + CSV); immutable, hash-chained records
  • Each part toggles per venue (EU 178/2002 traceability + APPCC under 852/2004)

Live menu PDFs

Generate A4 menu PDFs from your own live catalog in English and Spanish. Allergen codes, dietary flags, wine details and tasting notes render automatically — no design work needed. A ★ Highly Recommended toggle lets you float your picks to the top of each section.

  • Your catalog, your data — not a shared template
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish rendered server-side in one request
  • ★ Highly Recommended toggle per product — floats your picks to the top of each section
  • Per-size English label override — "Copa 250ml" on the ES menu, "Glass 250ml" on the EN menu
  • Each subcategory on a fresh page, with tasting notes / descriptions in italic under the name
  • Allergen codes (G, L, N…) and dietary flags (vegetarian, gluten-free, spicy) per product
  • Wine-specific fields: region, vintage, grape variety, ABV
  • Edit a price once in the catalog — the public menu updates within 5 minutes
  • QR-code-friendly public URL: share a link or print the QR on your table card

Next up

The SumUp Solo and Air as paired card readers, post-visit review requests with a one-click Google review link, and a starter menu for new venues. We ship in small, audited steps — every change goes into the tamper-proof history.
