Getting started with brasio
Also known as: setup, onboarding, primeros pasos, empezar, first time, new venue, configuración inicial.
When the welcome email lands, your venue is already created. What's left is: add your team, build the menu, and connect the kitchen printer. All of it is done from the terminal at the venue — no separate computer needed.
1. Create your first employee
- On the terminal, tap Admin (cog icon, bottom corner).
- Sign in with the PIN you received by email. Change it to something you'll remember.
- Staff → New employee. Enter the name, a 4-digit PIN and a role (server / bar / kitchen).
The PIN is the only thing each employee uses to start a shift. There's no username/password.
2. Build the menu
If you sent us your menu before going live, you'll already see it under Admin → Products. If not:
- Admin → Categories → New. Create, for example, Kitchen, Drinks, Wines.
- Admin → Products → New. Name, price, category, VAT. If you sell the same product in several sizes (half, third, pint), create a Sizes group.
- For dishes with extras (gluten-free, lactose-free, steak doneness), use Modifiers. See Modifiers: optional and required.
3. Set up the printer
brasio prints kitchen tickets, receipts and pre-bills on any 80 mm thermal printer. Printing works via the browser — you install the printer as the OS default on the till device, and optionally launch Chrome with --kiosk-printing for silent mode. See Connect your thermal printer for the full setup.
