Change your payment method
Also known as: subscription payment, billing card, change card, IBAN, método de pago, cambiar tarjeta, actualizar suscripción.
If your card has expired, you've switched bank or you'd like to move from card to SEPA direct debit, you can do it in a few steps from any browser. brasio handles payment details through the Stripe Customer Portal — we never see or store your card number.
1. Open the customer portal
- Go to your brasio account dashboard at
<your-slug>.brasio.io/account/billing. - Click Payment method → Manage in portal.
- The customer portal opens in a new browser tab.
The portal is provided by Stripe, our payments processor. It's the same secure page every brasio subscriber uses.
2. Change the card
In the portal:
- Tap Add payment method → Card.
- Enter the card number, expiry date and CVV.
- Save. The new card is added as a secondary method.
- Mark the new card as default.
- (Optional) Remove the old card if you no longer use it.
From the next billing cycle, the subscription will be charged to the new card.
3. Switch to direct debit (SEPA)
If you'd rather pay by direct debit from a bank account:
- In the portal, tap Add payment method → Bank account (SEPA).
- Enter the IBAN and confirm that you are the account holder.
- Save and mark it as default.
SEPA direct debit can take 1-2 business days to activate. The first SEPA collection may arrive a few days later than the usual date.
4. Pay an outstanding invoice
If a payment has failed (expired card, insufficient funds), brasio flags it in your account dashboard at <your-slug>.brasio.io/account/billing and you'll see a banner with the unpaid invoice.
- Update the payment method as explained above.
- In the billing section, find the outstanding invoice and click Retry payment.
If several days go by without a successful payment, brasio may restrict advanced features. We'll warn you by email first.
5. Change your billing details
The payment method and your billing details are different things:
- The payment method is the card or IBAN.
- The billing details are the tax ID (NIF), company name and address that appear on the invoice PDF.
To change billing details, see Invoices and receipts.
Not working?
- The customer portal won't open: check your internet connection and try a different browser. If the problem persists, get in touch.
- "Card declined": check with your bank that there's no block based on geolocation or amount.
- You want to change plan at the same time as the payment method: do them in order. Update the method first, then change the plan. See Plans and pricing.
