Per-product inventory tracking

Per-product inventory tracking
Also known as: inventory, stock control, controlar inventario, fill bars, low-stock badges, open wines, taps remaining, kegs %, vinos abiertos, agotado.
brasio's stock features (current quantity, low-stock badges, fill bars on the till, keg/bottle cascading from container costs) are a big help for kegged beer, bottled wine and any pourable. But they're noise for products that have no meaningful stock level: coffee made fresh from a hopper, tap water, dishes assembled from raw ingredients counted separately.
The Track inventory checkbox on each product lets you opt out individually. By default every product has tracking on, so behaviour is unchanged for your existing catalog.
Turn tracking off for a product
- On the till, open Catálogo and tap the product you want to edit.
- Scroll to the Controlar inventario checkbox in the product editor.
- Untick it.
- Save.
The product disappears from:
- The inventory rail on the till sidebar (taps / spirits / open wines).
- Low-stock widgets on the dashboard.
- Stock badges and fill bars on the product grid.
The product itself stays sellable — only the inventory layer is hidden for it.
Turn tracking on again
Tick Controlar inventario in the same editor and save. The product reappears in inventory views and its stock level is read from whatever value is currently in Cantidad actual.
When to turn it off
Good candidates:
- Coffee — drawn from a bean hopper or grinder. You count beans by the kg, not the cup.
- Water — tap water, or bottled water restocked weekly. The till doesn't need to know.
- Made-to-order dishes — pizza dough, flatbreads, salads assembled from ingredients you count separately.
- Open-priced miscellaneous items — services and one-off charges.
When to leave it on
- Kegged beer — the fill bar on the till is the whole point of tracking.
- Wines by the bottle — knowing how many bottles are left in the cellar is genuinely useful.
- Spirits poured into glasses — the container model uses tracking to compute the cost-per-pour.
- Bottled beer and soft drinks — finite stock, worth seeing on the dashboard.
Not working?
- The product still shows on the inventory rail: confirm you saved after unticking the box. The rail refreshes on the next sync.
- I want to bulk-disable tracking on a whole category: there is no bulk action today. Open each product and untick. (Tell us if this would save you a lot of clicks; we can prioritise it.)
- A product's Cantidad actual still says 47 even though tracking is off: the underlying number is preserved. Turning tracking back on reuses it. If you also want to wipe it, set Cantidad to 0 before unticking.
